Welcome to Alte Schlossbrauerei!
The "Alte Schlossbrauerei" - a house in a peaceful yet central location - is situated on Mirow Castle Island directly on the lake. Nestled in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District, the castle island is also home to the residential palace of the Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the Church of St John with the princely crypt, the gatehouse, and the beautiful Love Island.
"Alte Schlossbrauerei" was built as early as 1705 in the northern part of the castle grounds, in a brick building dating from the 15th century that once belonged to a former Knights Hospitaller commandery.
The impressive ice cellar with its 3 vaulted chambers probably also dates from this period. A journey back in time at the evening events in our experiential dining venue, today’s "Ritterkeller", is something you have to experience. Fans of hearty cuisine will feel completely at home here in convivial company.
Brewery locations change, and the "Alte Schlossbrauerei" has meanwhile become a small, cosy restaurant with an adjoining hotel and a lovely lakeside terrace that invites you to linger.
